    Our focus on STEM begins in kindergarten. Through weekly science lab experiences, hands-on lessons, and the integration of technology throughout our curriculum, students have the opportunity to learn and discover through meaningful engagement.

    Required Skills and Experience:
    Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
    • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and demonstrate a STEM focus.
    • Develops schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests.
    • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
    • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
    • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
    • Provide appropriate and timely feedback on work.
    • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
    • Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development.
    • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
    • Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
    • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
    • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities that align with state and district standards.
    • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
    • Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
    • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
    Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
    • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds, including immigrant populations.
    • Ability and willingness to work as a PLC (Professional Learning Community).
    • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls, and answer emails.
    • Participate in appropriate professional activities.
    • Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations as directed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Knowledge Skills and Ability Required:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • B.A/B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching.
    • Missouri State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area or requirements to obtain.
    • Knowledge and interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
    • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
    • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
    SCHEDULE
    School Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
    Length of work year: Mid-August to end of May (10-month contract), up to 188 days per year, including
    professional development, parent/teacher conferences, and preparatory work.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
    Salary is competitive and is based on years of experience and degree of education: $45,000 - $65,000 per
    year. 70% of health insurance paid by the school; 75% of each class up to $3,000 tuition reimbursement per year; 100K life insurance from the house; 10 sick/personal days and retirement benefits through Public School Retirement System of the City of St. Louis, PSRSSTL.
